    Located in a 19th-century village, just a few kilometres outside Modena – the heart of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar production district – Acetaia Giusti is regarded as a centre of excellence in the production of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. Established in 1605, Acetaia Giusti is the world’s oldest producer of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena: the Giusti family has been running the company for over 400 years, drawing on centuries of expertise and driven by a great passion, which have always been its hallmarks. Over the years, the company has won numerous awards and accolades, including those obtained at the Great Exhibitions in the late 19th century, as well as a patent as the sole supplier to the Royal House of Savoy in 1929.

    The strong link between the product, the company’s heritage and the area of Modena permeates every aspect of this company and is reflected in all its products: the iconic label – designed in the early 1900s in Art Nouveau style – features all the historical elements associated with Acetaia Giusti: the medals awarded at the Great Universal Exhibitions, the coat of arms of the Royal House, and the scales. Giusti’s product range comprises numerous items, which are divided into the following product lines: Historical collection, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP, Gift Sets, Condiments with Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP, Condiments Giusti Riserva and Gourmet Condiments, Azienda Agricola Giusti, Glazes with Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP, Gourmet products with Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP, and Vermouth aged in Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP casks.

    Each product embodies the history of the Giusti family, Modenese tradition, the experience acquired and the vocation of the area. What makes Giusti’s work even more valuable is the focus on the production process, in which the ageing phase plays a crucial role: the older the cask, the better the product will be. This is why Acetaia Giusti produces its condiments in old casks dating back to 1700 and 1800.

    These casks, the historical objects, the documents concerning the company and the tools used over the centuries have been collected in the Giusti Museum, a timeless place where visitors can find out more about the company’s invaluable cultural heritage. In 2019, the Giusti family, in order to emphasise its ties with the city of Modena and its desire to spread the culture of Balsamic Vinegar in all its forms, opened the Bottega di Piazza Grande, a small boutique overlooking the main square, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering consumers the chance to sample Giusti products and immerse themselves in the company’s centuries-old history.
