The Psychoencyclopedia problematizes the idea of encyclopedic knowledge as the title itself suggests, through the use of the term "possible". Similarly to many other works by Baruchello, it is precisely the alphabet and organization that unhinge the traditional connections between words and icons, deconstructing all forms of consequentiality: the usual function of the caption disappears together with the concept of thematic order itself, giving rise instead to the potentially infinite juxtaposition of what seems to be unable to be placed adjacent. Politics and history, dreams and repressed, nature and the environment, story and memory find in this work unprecedented expressions of convergence and unexpected juxtapositions, through the tireless curiosity that led Baruchello to be interested in every aspect of knowledge.

After graduating in Law (1946), he experimented with the image through the object, building the first alphabets of signs at the basis of the search for a language that does not give up on the figure, albeit reconsidered within a conceptual process. Some objects consisting of books or newspapers assembled and sometimes covered with white enamel were exhibited in 1962 in Paris (Collages et objets) and in New York (New Realists).
