For Treccani, Elisabetta Benassi, an artist known for creating meaningful works with a strong emotional impact, has chosen the watchword of this project, i.e. Utopia, by taking a picture of the UTOPIA brick, which was produced until 1965 by the English company Aldridge Brick and Tile.
This solid industrial material, an element frequently found in the Roman artist’s body of work, perfectly captures the concept of what, according to Greek etymology, is a “place that does not exist”, giving it a well-defined shape.
