Piero Golia's work reproduces in silkscreen and covers with gold leaf the work Untitled (My Gold is Yours - Gold and Concrete Cube at the Venice Biennale), the concrete cube crossed by a golden vein, exhibited in the garden of the Italian Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale ( 2013). For the occasion, Goliath had kneaded a kilo of gold sand into a two-and-a-half meter block of concrete, inviting the public to intervene on the work by detaching fragments and thus compromising its very existence. A playful and provocative meditation on the value of the work of art and its eventual disappearance, My Gold is Yours also gave rise to Gold and Concrete Cube at the Venice Biennale (2013), a miniature model of the same.

Piero Golia (b. Naples 1974) lives and works in Los Angeles.
His works (sculptures, installations, performances), with a provocatively neo-Dada flavor, aim to subvert the rules, arouse amazement, explore numerous ways of 'to put oneself on stage'.
Constantly poised between superomism and self-irony, his daring exploits highlight the paradoxes of contemporary society.
