MAXXI L'Aquila, in the city of L’Aquila, an hour’s drive from Rome, is a crossroads of communication, meetings and collaboration between expressive languages. It is configured as a pole capable of interweaving networks at different levels between the protagonists of the contemporary world and between the subjects operating in multifaceted artistic and scientific systems (galleries, foundations, associations, other museums and research institutes), demonstrating the skills of national and international creativity. Just as at its headquarters in Rome, MAXXI L'Aquila aims to bring visual arts, performance, photography and architecture into dialogue, questioning contemporaneity and carrying out its institutional mission and its cultural and social vocation, through the productions of artists and creatives. Alongside site-specific projects, the rooms of Palazzo Ardinghelli host works from the MAXXI Collection, with a programme of temporary exhibitions of art, architecture and photography.
