    Palazzo Merulana

Inaugurated in May 2018, Palazzo Merulana hosts the modern and contemporary art collection of the Elena and Claudio Cerasi Foundation, a substantial collection of works mainly of art from the Roman and Italian school of the twentieth century, which includes, among others, names of the calibre of Mafai, Raphael, Donghi, De Chirico, Cambellotti, Capogrossi, Balla. The aim of the founders was to give back to Rome and the Romans a space that had been abandoned for a long time, that of the former Hygiene Office in Via Merulana 121. Thanks to an important restructuring operation, which lasted more than 5 years, and to the partnership with CoopCulture, the Palazzo today hosts exhibitions of national and international importance. It is also one of the points of reference for the city's cultural production and for the growth of cultural participation as a factor of social inclusion and welfare, opening up to young people and the cultural realities of the area.
