    QUADRIENNALE D'ARTE 2020.
FUORI is a volume that, besides giving evidence of the artists on show and the exhibition project of the Quadriennale d'arte 2020, aims to outline new perspectives and methods of investigation on contemporary Italian art. A bilingual volume, Italian and English, it is designed to reflect the experimental nature of the exhibition and the work carried out over the last three years by the Quadriennale di Roma in support of Italian art, addressing visitors to the exhibition, the community of scholars, contemporary art students, artists and experts in the field.

The volume is composed of an introductory photographic section that retraces the most emblematic events of the 1920s, and three macro-sections. The first is dedicated to the exhibition, curated by Sarah Cosulich and Stefano Collicelli Cagol, whose essays written for the occasion aim to deepen the lines of research developed for the creation of the exhibition project. They are followed by Alessandro Bava, architect who was entrusted with the exhibition design, Luca Scarlini, writer, curator and, on this occasion, storyteller of the Quadriennale and its Library Archive, and Michele Bertolino and Matteo Binci, assistant curators of the exhibition. Following this, each invited artist has four pages of images and materials relating to his or her own project in the exhibition or, more generally, to his or her artistic career, introduced by a short text from the curatorial department.
The second section gathers five essays commissioned to art historians - Giorgina Bertolino, Stefano Chiodi, Silvia Fanti with Daniele Gasparinetti, Francesco Ventrella, Riccardo Venturi - which propose themes and new methodologies for reading contemporary Italian art today. To these is added the Italian translation of an essay by Camilla Hawthorne. The third section is dedicated to an in-depth examination of the themes dealt with in the six Q-Rated workshops held in the two-year period 2018-2019; entrusted to foreign artists and curators during the seminar days, the same themes are analysed by young Italian critics and artists: Dafne Boggeri, Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, Michele D'Aurizio, Vincenzo Estremo, Lorenzo Pezzani and Sofia Silva.
