Une Nuit Admirable is a fascinating publication by the Parma atelier Alma Charta which guides us through the interplay of two worlds: on the one hand literature and on the other engraving... woven together in perfect symbiosis. For the Les Heures Contées collection, the atelier presents this small volume with a text in French by André Gide, selected from his book Journal of 1946, made with Helvetica movable type composition, which is perfectly married with the etching and drypoint engraving executed by André Beuchat. The edition, available in fifty numbered copies and five out of commerce copies printed on Hahnemühle paper, is enriched by a black cardboard cover printed with movable wooden characters using the Amos Dell'Orto vertical press, which deservedly makes it one of the premium works selected for Treccani Emporium.
