Among the superb products presented in the Emporio Treccani display window, the edition of the Cantico dei Cantici presented by Tallone is as beautiful and refined as any other artefact. This poignant love poem is among the most famous in the history of literature, structured as a dialogue between a young woman and her lover. This precious version comes in a print run of only three hundred and fifty-six numbered copies, printed on neutral pH cotton paper specifically set up in Sicily. The text was composed entirely by hand with original characters by William Caslon, who engraved it letter by letter in London in the early decades of the eighteenth century. This precious volume in one hundred pages is a deserving ambassador for the typographic workshop which for more than three centuries has excelled in the field of premium high quality printing on handcrafted paper and ancient typographic techniques.
