Ippocrate
Attributed to the Greek physician Hippocrates (460-370 BC), the Oath opens in a solemn way with an invocation to the healing deities, and then presents one by one the principles to which every good doctor should guide the exercise of his profession . Hand composed with the original Garamond type 14 body, hand engraved in 1910 by Henri Parmentier and cast by Deberny & Peignot in Paris. The first and highest expression of the principles of medical ethics, doctors today more than ever, in times of pandemics, are invested with great responsibility. Composed by hand letter by letter and imprinted in a limited edition on pure cotton paper set up by hand by the master papermakers of Pescia (Lucca). The pronouncement of the Oath is a rite that unites undergraduates from many countries.
