Alma Charta, Artist's booklet with three poems by Valentina D’Urso

Il vero legame is an artist's booklet for the Quaderni della Notte Collana, hand-made by the Alma Charta atelier, using out of date typographic machines. The three poems of the poetess Valentina D'Urso, composed with Augustea movable type, are accompanied by precious drypoint etchings on copper by André Beuchat, hand-printed on a star wheel press. This is just one of the many techniques employed by this master engraver, who for the last twenty years has devoted himself to the world of paper and ink in his establishment in the countryside near Parma. As a background to the poet's words – which explore the existential values of life as they continually interweave with the passing of time – delicately tinged engravings bring light to the eight hand-sewn pages, enriched by a textured cover on coloured laid paper. The edition is limited to fifty copies, plus five copies on Hahnemūle paper.
