What are the reasons for the transversal and very solid fortune of the Renaissance today in the global imagination – literary, filmic and artistic – and in countless studies? What profound links are there between the printing revolution, decisive for that historical period, and the new revolution in which we are immersed, namely the digital world? And what are the risks but above all the opportunities of this unprecedented technological threshold – "from Gutenberg to Google" – for the conservation and interpretation of the immense book of artistic and scientific heritage which is the Renaissance? Starting from these questions, which are inscribed in today's lively critical debate on digital humanities, and through the illustration of some interesting and innovative frontier projects, the volume intends to put forward concrete proposals for building research environments, and for the dissemination of knowledge that is unitary and open, with particular attention to both new technological and cognitive models and to the “new normality” of post pandemic society.
