How can we rethink public spaces in the #MeToo era? What would a metropolis conceived for women who work look like? Women who push prams and take care of our elderly? We live in cities that were designed by men and for men. However, in order to create a liveable, accessible, safe and dynamic environment, it is essential to welcome and support all experiences and opinions while meeting everyone’s needs. Leslie Kern’s work therefore combines theory and biographical narration, urban studies and social consciousness to explore the limits and possibilities of our cities, highlighting the importance and the role of feminist thought within them.
