    The History

The Aurora Manufactory

Established in Turin in 1919, Aurora is a leading company in the production and marketing of writing accessories, leather goods, watches and paper. Initially run by the Verona family, Aurora, after more than 100 years, still reflects the story of a project that has been handed down from generation to generation to the heirs of the original founders. Today, it still has just one plant in the city of Turin and is thus the only company in the sector in Italy. Since its founding, the company has driven the evolution of writing instruments, becoming synonymous with style and precision, perfectly balancing fine craftsmanship and innovation: carefully selected raw materials of the highest quality are combined with the exclusive functional features of every product that leaves the factory.

The company’s mission statement is best described as a true passion for beauty: cutting-edge technology, which is always in step with the times, is combined with traditional goldsmith craftsmanship, which make each pen a little gem. Many of these creations have played a key role in design history, contributing to the global success of the “Made in Italy” brand: for instance, the well-known 88 model, a classic writing instrument designed by Marcello Nizzoli in 1947, or the Hastil and Thesi pens, created by Marco Zanuso in 1970, the first writing instruments to be exhibited at the MoMA in New York.

To this day, Aurora is the only company in Italy, and one of the few in the world, to produce the nib, the beating heart of its exclusive creations. In this way, it offers customers the opportunity to choose their own writing style, creating a unique pen that is tailored to their tastes. The pen is no longer merely a functional tool, but an accessory with great aesthetic appeal, which adds a touch of personality, enriching everyday style with sophistication and good taste.
